Two-year central posting now mandatory for IPS officers to qualify as IG

Indian Police Service officers from the 2011 batch onwards must now serve two years as Superintendent of Police or Deputy Inspector General on central deputation. This new rule applies for empanelment as Inspector General at the Centre. The move aims to fill vacancies and ensure senior officers gain adequate ground-level experience.
