Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said the India-EU technology and defence partnership marks a major step in bringing the two sides closer amid global challenges. Signed ahead of the 16th India-EU Summit, the pact will enhance cooperation in security, defence and people-to-people ties. India is now the third Asian nation after Japan and South Korea to sign such a partnership with the EU.
The Prime Minister also said that the oil refining capacity will be expanded from 260 million tonnes per annum to 300 MTPA and the nation is targeting USD 100 billion investments in the oil and gas sector by 2030.
