Titagarh Rail Systems Limited has rolled out India's first driverless metro trainset for Ahmedabad Metro at its facility in Uttarpara, West Bengal. The trainset, with 70-75% local content, features stainless steel carbodies and advanced technology for driverless operations. It will serve the Ahmedabad Metro Phase-2 network, covering 28.26km across two corridors. The interiors showcase a Garba-inspired theme, reflecting Ahmedabad's cultural heritage. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel attended the event, emphasizing the project's alignment with the Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives.
