The Maharashtra government has allocated Rs 2,267 crore toward acquiring land for the Sadhu Gram initiative. This area will be used for hosting the 2027 Nashik-Trimbakeshwar Kumbh Mela, covering 191.21 acres to accommodate spiritual leaders and various religious organisations. Any misuse of these funds will result in stringent repercussions. The government stated that the sanction is a one-time funding arrangement and that any increase in project cost beyond the approved amount would have to be borne entirely by the Nashik Municipal Corporation.
