French Olympian Leon Marchand broke the men's 200m individual medley world record with a swim of 1:52.69 at the Singapore World Championships. Overcoming past injuries, Marchand bested Ryan Lochte's 2011 record. He returned to the global stage with victories in the 200m and 400m IM events.
