India's FY26 Indirect Tax Collections Cross ₹15.5 Lakh Crore, Health Cess Lags

The government slightly exceeded its FY26 indirect tax target, with total collections at over Rs 15.52 lakh crore, customs duty at 102% of RE, excise at 101%, and CGST at 100.8%. Overall GST plus non-GST revenues reached 101.2% of RE. However, health and national security cess on pan masala fell short at 63% of the target, expected to improve next fiscal.
