India cannot ignore quality of products, services if it seeks to be developed nation by 2047: BIS DG

BIS Director General Sanjay Garg emphasized that India must prioritize product and service quality to achieve developed nation status by 2047. He highlighted quality as the key differentiator between developed and developing nations. While gold jewellery hallmarking is mandatory in 373 districts, silver hallmarking will become mandatory only after infrastructure is in place.
