Cardiologist Dr Dmitry Yaranov says cardiac MRI can reveal heart problems that routine tests often miss. In a recent Instagram post, he described it as a high resolution scan that shows heart structure, function and tissue health, helping detect myocarditis, cardiomyopathies and heart damage. However, he cautioned that MRI cannot identify early arterial plaque, stressing that prevention and appropriate testing remain essential for long term heart health.
