'Centre ready to revoke X's safe harbour tag to protect citizens'

On Friday, the ministry of electronics and information technology (MeitY) had issued a formal notice to X over its AI-powered chatbot Grok being used to generate and spread obscene images and videos of women, and given it 72 hours to remove objectionable content, and take action against offending users. It also threatened to nullify the firm's 'safe harbour' status if it is unable to demonstrate auditable compliance with all rules, especially with regards to hosting sexually explicit content.
