BP Sells 65% Stake In Castrol Lubricants To Stonepeak For $6 Billion

BP has agreed to sell a 65% stake in its Castrol lubricants business to investment firm Stonepeak for around $6 billion, valuing Castrol at $10.1 billion including debt. BP will retain a minority stake through a joint venture. Proceeds will reduce BP’s net debt, supporting its goal to lower debt to $14–18 billion by 2027. Castrol India shares rose 8% post-announcement.
