Beijing moves to curb reliance on US AI chips, halts Nvidia H200 purchases

China has asked select technology companies to temporarily stop purchasing Nvidia’s H200 artificial intelligence chips while policymakers assess future access to high-performance US semiconductors and encourage greater use of domestic alternatives.
